Originally brewed by immigrant German brewers adapting traditional lager recipes to local ingredients, this style is known for its distinctive grainy malt profile, prominent use of corn adjuncts, and assertive hop bitterness. Modern recreations aim to reflect the beer's original character: flavorful, robust, and distinctly American.

Pre-Prohibition Lager Style Range:

SRM: 3–6 (Pale Gold to Deep Gold)

IBU: 25–40

Original Gravity (OG): 1.044–1.060

ABV: 4.5–6%

Explore More Historical / American Style Beer Kits featuring corn:

Kentucky Common All-Grain Beer Kit

Cream Ale All-Grain Beer Kit

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0990/7191/8385/files/pre-prohibition-lager-all-grain-beer-recipe-kit_1.jpg?v=1793038026
